About The Band Project
At The Band Project, we’re a community for adults who’ve picked up an instrument and always dreamed of playing live — but haven’t yet. We run weekly band sessions and offer 1‑2‑1 lessons across locations in the UK. We rehearse full songs from the world of rock, blues, funk, pop +more and aim towards live performance or recording.

What we’re looking for

• Skilled instrumentalists (guitar, bass, drums, keys, brass, strings, woodwind, etc.) who are confident in practising what they preach, performing, mentoring and teaching.

• Working musicians or teachers with real‑world experience (gigging, session work, production) who can bring that energy and insight into sessions.

• Professional, reliable, and well-organised tutors who take pride in preparation and communication.

• Friendly, engaging mentors who can support adult learners — whether in full band sessions, small group rehearsals or individual lessons.

• Self‑employed professionals. We offer a very competitive hourly rate.

• Available evenings (for band sessions) and flexible daytime / evenings for 1‑2‑1 home teaching.

What you’ll do

• Lead weekly band sessions: warm‑up jams, song preparation, full band rehearsals, helping shape performances and/or recordings.

• Provide individual tuition at students’ homes: one‑to‑one lessons, or online lessons for adults at varying levels.

• Mentor adult learners: support their journey from “I’ve played a bit” to “I’m ready to perform.”

• Bring your professional musician experience into your teaching: share tips, performance insights, stage presence, instrumental technique, rehearsal discipline.

• Communicate clearly with students and the Band Project team, ensuring punctuality and high-quality experiences across the board.
